flash actionscript : Quirk or Bug???

I think I've discovered a bug (and/or quirk) in Flash and I'm curious what
others have found. The quote below is from a previous thread found here:

[L=Help!! variables, scenes,
levels]http://www.flashkit.com/board/showthread.php?postid=2858757#post2858757[/
L]

[Q]If you've followed the thread you know that a multiple scene movie is
problematic when using variables for navigation. For each scene placed PRIOR to
the scene containing your variable navigation code, the playhead will jump one
frame. This happens in both MX and MX 2004 even without adding any content to
the additional scenes. Perhaps multiple scene movies negatively affect
variables in other ways too....??

Would you say this is a quirk or a bug?

How about this one? The problem remains even after deleting the additional
scenes in MX 2004. Once I determined additional scenes where interfering with
my code I began reworking files into single scene movies. The problem persisted
even after I deleted the scenes that where causing the playhead to skip in the
first place.

This is a bug .

So far, I've only tested in OS X versions, but it's probably the case for
Windows as well.

Comments... related test results... suggestions... post'em here.[/Q]

For organising a very long timeline, not in actionscript.

This is a bug documented a long time ago .. pretty sure it was in at least
both Flash 5 and Flash MX .. don't know if it is still in MX 2004 (but going
by the status of some other issues, it may well be).

Using scene names in gotoAndPlay/Stop is very buggy. It generates incorrect
code when it shouldn't, and can only be used in a few places.

It should be removed from Flash AS language (except that will break existing
FLA files .. but then, MM have made changes before that break FLA files, so
why not do it for a just cause).
