flash actionscript : Kiosk Scheduling using Flash

Hi Eveyone,

I have project that I am researching that I need some advice on. I am creating
a distributed Kiosk application using Flash... ie, 6 pcs or more, each running
a Flash exe, or full-screen website, and I need to schedule and distribute
content into them from a central location. Might need specified content at
different locations... so they won't all be playing the same thing. If anyone
has any experience with Scala Infochannel, this idea is somewhat similar.

Does anyone have any advice as the best (or even possible) way of distributing
the content. Shoudl I create an entire Flash application to manage it all, or
are there any third-party solutions to do the scheduling and distribution part.

Thanks,

their is a lot of questions in your question and the best thing that I think I
can tell you is that anything is possible, but dont go to any third party
anything and yes make a flash app but how to do it. I could give you details
but you would have to tell me much more for me to answer correctly. For
instance how many different versions of this Kiosk are their. if there is
thousands and every one has something different on it, you have a big project.
If there are a few version and you just want to rotate thing every week that is
pretty easy but they are both a little bit of work. The questions you should be
asking are like if I have x amount of flash movie on x amount of Kiosk do I
need to build a content management system to handle this or can I make
something that just -----blanks---- every week, month whatever. Hope this
helps.

Thanks for answering.

You are right, that this can get somewhat complex... I think it may take a
custom CMS. Idea is to start off with say... 5 Kiosks in various locals, and be
able to manage content on all of them from one place. May want content#1 to
play on kiosk1,2&3, and content#2 to play on kiosk2,3&5, but content#3 only
plays on kiosk5. Then, like many CMS's would tell content to just run on
fridays, or, only from 2-3pm on tuesdays. Woud like Flash CMS to be be somewhat
scalable... I think.

Content is going to be a mix of info, Flash, video (using Flash 2004 pro) and
possibly some 3D. Does this help clarify a little? Q- does anyone have any
advice.... or know of a Flash CMS that can modified to help create this?
