flash actionscript : Some buttons works, others don't??

Hi Y'all,

I am using buttons throughout my movie; some are GIFs used as buttons, some
are text with hit area set larger.

I am having these problems:

On the home page and all the subsequent pages, the picture of Susanna in the
upper right corner should link back to the main page or frame 1. I cannot get
it to go back home.

If you go to the music button, and go forward a couple times, you'll come to a
page that has three CD covers. The first two I was able to link to an outside
URL for purchasing. The third CD is unavailable; I have made a frame 7 or 8
(can't recall which right now) that the third CD should link to that says
Ordering information not available at this time." I cannot get it to go to
that frame.

Lastly, on the performances page, any suggestions on the best way to do this?
I work for alot of musician friends and would like to be able to always link to
the venue--won't making that venue--just that one line--cause the text to be
out of whack if I make a larger hit area?

Finally, is there a way to make a text file (with venue links) that can be
uploaded to the server for this movie to pull from. Is there a tutorial
someone can point me to?

Thanks VERY MUCH!

here's your file will the links corrected. because you want to control the
_root timeline your buttons need to reference the _root timeline.

to link to a venue you could place a transparent buttons over the venue names.
that won't change any text.

yes, you can use loadVariables() to load variables (like venue1, venue1link
etc) from a text file. check out the loadVariables() function and the onData
event.

Thank you so much for the help and info. I feel sooooo lucky to have this
venue. Flash is not an easy software to learn on your own and Iam very
thankful I have gotten as far (ahem) as I have. I am a bit petrified of the
root timeline I must admit. I'm sure it's like any other file/folder
structure, I just haven't figured out which one is the root timeline!

I see your point and I thank you.

(3.2) without problem. i zipped it using powerdesk and was also able to unzip
with powerdesk. i emailed the unzipped fla file to you, though.
