flash actionscript : Button troubles

I am pretty new to flash.. I have been watching some lynda.com cd roms and I
came up with this button idea.. But I cant seme to get it to work right.. I
have tried several ideas but I keep getting errors.. Here is a link for me .fla
file.. Can someone tell me if I am on the right track...

sorry, the link had not appeared when i typed the last comment.
you have put the code on the timeline of the movieclip. Go back to the main
timeline, click on the movieclip and in the actions panel type
on (rollOver) {
gotoAndStop("open");
}
on (rollOut) {
play();
}

Do you ever wonder if your just not cut out for something? hehe.. sheesh, I am
trying to learn this stuff but my head just doenst seem to get it sometimes..
Anyway.. I deleted the AS in those areas except the stop, but when I put it in
the the main time line I got 6 errors.. So I am not sure what to do at this
point.. I may just cry a little.. Then come back to it in a bit.. My head it so
twisted around it right now.. Cool music on your site.. Had a good sound to it.

The code does not go on the timeline, but on the movieclip itself. Click on the
movieclip before typing in the actions panel.

hmm.. thats weird.. that is what I had done but for some reason it wasnt
working for me.. Maybe my flash is mad at me.. No, really thanks for the help..
I will build it again and then mess around with it more to try and learn this
stuff! Now, I am going to try and figure how to make it close on roll off!

ps the second example hasnt showed up.. not sure why..

ahhh, this is great.. I think that I was making this harder then it really
was.. Ty for the help.. I will rebuild it and post the new finished one here
when I get it done.. Thanks agian..
