hey guys, long time reader but this is my first post. also, i know this is
prolly in the wrong section, but i figured it would get the most 'views'
here...sorry =)
anyways, what i am trying to figure out is if it is possible (if so, then how)
to have a user upload an mpeg file to a server and have some sort of program
that puts those mpegs into flash and renders out an swf file?? and possibly
compress the mpeg with sorenson as well. anyways, if anyone has any experience
with this it sure would help me out. let me know.

thanks guys

It's not going to happen. Not with Flash, anyway. Importing MPGs and
converting them with Sorenson is only available during authoring. To get
this to work, you'd have to write (or find) some server software that
integrates with Flash ... for this particular task, I don't think such
software yet exists -- if it did, it would be very expensive.

Having said that ... if you pre-convert your videos into FLVs (Flash
video files), you can dynamically import these videos all day.
