flash actionscript: I ahve made a little movie player for my site and have decided to use the flv
player in lfash 8. Unfortunately, the skin dissappears, resulting in it being
buttonless. I dont want to create a whole new set of buttons.....

Any Suggestions

I had this same problem.
Assuming you are applying one the the pre-made skins that come with flash 8:

1. Make sure you have at least 35 pixels under your FLV player to allow for
the .swf file that contains the buttons and other elements

2. Here's what fixed my problem:
When you publish the .fla containing your flv, a separte .swf containing the
buttons and other elements relating to the skin you chose will also be
published. (look for a .swf with the same name as the chosen skin)
In my situation the published .swfs conaining the .flvs were being loaded into
a container file which was located outside the folder containing the publish
..swfs. Since some elements of my project only worked when run through the
projector file created by the published container file, I copied the .swf that
contained the skin elements and pasted it in the same location as the projector
file. That solved the problem. Remember to copy, not cut. It still needs to
exist in the same location as the .swf file containing the .flv.

hope this helps.
