the idea is to have a button in a swf in a web page which is my desktop. I can
have hot keys to open swfs for presentation quickly in flashplayer, not
internet browser.

(Infernal IE blocks flash content - SP2 sux! How can I get firefox to open
swfs by default?)

answers greatly appreciated.

Put firefox as your default browser?

thanks for the reply.

It was late when I posted, and it isn't very clear:

I wish to open a swf in flash player not internet browser from a keystroke.

Any further thoughts?

Publish the swf file you want to open so you'll have both the swf and a html
file. And then open the html file with the getURL function:

getURL(url:String, [window:String, [method:String]]) : Void

It should work :)

[quoted text, click to view]

If all of this is to be done on the users desk top, then they can set
their File type options to do so.

optionally, you can use something liek Flash Jester (I think) or create
your own desktop shell for the swfs
