RPM tach on loading flash -- flash actionscript

hi, im trying to replace the existing plain old loading bar with a motorcycle
RPM tach which from 1 to 16 thousand rpm which is redline and at 16k is when
site loads, i have the image and the idea, but cant make it happen.. am i
supposed to have 16 images of the tach needle? confusing myself the more i
think about it

So you don't want to have the tachometer actually measuring the download
SPEED, but rather, the download progress? In that case, the ratio found from
bytes loaded divided by bytes total would be applied to controlling a
percentage of the rotation of the tachometer needed.
