flash actionscript : Connecting to HTTP

once a loadVars object is created does anything else have to be done before
using .sendAndLoad(URL,DATA,"POST")???
I keep getting an Error opening URL "myURL". I can connect to the URL from a
browser so I know the address is correct.

From your post I can only conclude that myURL is different from URL.
