flash actionscript: For some reason many of the lessons within this action script book don't seem
to work even though the scripts are as the book says they should be. For
instance in lesson 19 the first excersise at step 10 has only seven scripted
lines one of which is designed to have an error so that when I or you click
control > test movie the Output Panel will pop up. But for some reason as I
tried it it did not pop-up.

As I said earlier many of the test movies actions do not work even though the
scripts are "correct" match of the book' s script.
Any Idea as to what is not working? Is there an up-date version of this
action script book?

which book do you mean mate? the built in tutorials? as for the output panel
open it manually with F2. The two essential books are Moocks actionscript mx
and his essential actionscript 2.0. After that get one or two that specialise
in the area you're working in. Glen rhodes knows his stuff, so do the boys from
electrotank for games. And there literally are hundreds of flash general
knowledge books out there.
