flash actionscript:
Hi all,

Just wondering if the Sound Class has any undocumented properties that I can
use to create a waveform effect in my FLA? For example, I want to create a
waveform similar to the one you might see on any modern MP3 software that
changes with the sound being played.

Judging by the properties documented, it doesn't look possible as is. But I
also notice that Flash creates a waveform in the "Properties" dialog box of the
sound in the library. So, since it does, I wondered where Flash gets that
information and if there is a way to use it in my scripts.

Thanks.

what you can do: get the current soundlevel from the Microphone, not from a
sound file.
so if you map the sound output to the mic input on your computer, you can
watch the level just like in the flashplayer´s properties dialog. but
caution: you might produce unintended feedback!
