can't. no access to filesystem (security). You have to use either some
server side script, or some third party solution. In what context do you
want to do this?

Well, if this is a list that's going to be static you could always make it
in XML. Or use screenweaver, it's an open source tool that will allow you to
wrap your Flash in an API so that you can access OS functions. It's a little
cumbersome to use, otherwise some people have been recommending Jugglor.
