flash actionscript : Navigation transition

Seems like this should be basic, but I've spent too many hours at this point
trying to figure it out.

I have a main swf, and I've used the movie clip loader to show a menu on level
10 and the content on level 5. I can get the content (for example,
biography.swf) to slide in from the right, but I want to make it slide back out
to the right before the next content (maybe pics.swf) slides in. How should I
set this up?

1. store the value of the next slide in a variable.
2. initiate the slide out

Thanks, kglad. I was basically doing that, but with some syntax errors. If anyone needs an example of the code, shoot me a message.
