flash actionscript : SEPY ActionScript Editor with mtasc

After trying to find a solution on mtasc?s mailing list and SEPY?s forum I am
still unable to find the solution to this problem, so here I go. When I check
my projects syntax using mtasc in SEPY I get the following error;

Compile Error;
C://?std8/flash/geom./Point.as(10): character 10-13, parse error Unexpected add

Then it highlights the following line in Point.as;

function add( p : Point ) : Point;

Under Flush>Compile with MTASC in the dialog menu I have the classpath set to
that directory. However I don?t have the ?-main? box checked but I do have the
?-mx? box checked and only that box. And what is the ?main entry point?? Eh, I
need some help. Thanks.

This is from a SEPY?s class named ?Point?. There is a Flash built-in class
named Point also that resides?;

C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Flash 8\en\First Run\Classes\FP8\flash\geom

However both classes give me the same error. I am not using this class
directly in my project; I am using the Rectangle class which is using it. I
can quote it out or even change it to ?Add? and it compiles with no errors!
Hehehe?eh.

myIP,

SEPY has ActionScript classes?

Heh, then you're using it. ;)

Does this mean your issue is solved? Sounds like it, but I want to make
sure. I should mention, though, that while I like the idea of MTASC very
much, I don't actually use it, mainly because of my use of UI Components.
(I know there workarounds, but it just seems like too much effort, to me.)
That said, I may not be able to offer much insight into fixing an
MTASC-related problem.

My mistake, no. MTASC is has Flash 8 built-in classes that comes with it that
I put in my SEPY directory.

Haha...

That I am not sure of. SEPY is very new to me and when I do change it I get
no syntax errors but my SWF is not complied correctly. However I am just not
confident about changing a built-in class, at least not yet.:) But I am pretty
sure that it is the MTASC that is not configured right. No problem, I will get
it running soon. Thanks again.
