Newbie question Mr Brainz

flash actionscript: Hi there,

My flash knowledge is little/non-exsistant and I would like your help.

I am updating a website for someone that primarily uses flash. They have a
movie that links to an external XML file. I am trying to locate the
ActionScript to edit in the file but I can't seem to find it.

There is script in the first scene that basically runs the whole operation of
the movie, but I know there is another part of Script sitting somewhere in the
FLA file that I can't seem to find. I know it's there because I decompiled a
previously completed movie serving the same fuction and the script is easily
visable. This is only becuase the decompiler I have doesn't perform correctly.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm babbling about and if they could help me?

Thanks

You can try finding the script in the fla:
In the Flash environment press ALT+F3,

Thanks for replying

I just tried that but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

The script I'm looking for has this note attached to it

// [onClipEvent of sprite 4 in frame 1]
//Component construct()

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

you should find it when you search for: "Component construct",
if not - the code don't exist in that Fla.

Ok so it appears that the action script isn't present.

This has now put me at a dead end. There is somewhere I have to specify the
external XML that the movie is linking to, but I can't find where I am supposed
to set this.

I guess I will have to talk to the guy that made the movie to find out what to
do, but thanks all the same.
