flash actionscript: I want to be able to get the file name and it's full path of a local file. I
was thinking of using "FileReference" but FileReference doesn't permint
accessing the local file path. Can anyone suggest a way of doing this.

thanks for the input, but once I do that I no longer have a web app, don't these 3rd party wrappers run the swf file inside an executable file? If that's the case I would rather try using javascript.

this still doesn't provide me with a web based app, this would transform my swf file into a file the user would have to download and execute, which is not what I want.

You will have to create 2 different versions.
