download, how do I tell the SWF what the address of the flv is? At the
moment it still looks for it on my local machine even after I've uploaded it
to the server.

Or am I missing the point in some incredible basic way?

I should add I'm using actionscript3

I'm not sure if this is what you need to know, but watch this video and
near the end the guy explains what files need to be uploaded to the
webserver. Check it out and see if it helps.
