:confused;

Well, my problem is that whenever I select the button (or anything else) I
want to give an action to, I open up the ActionScript window, but it says
"current selection cannot have action applied to it."
The only thing that I can apply an action to is the frame itself.
Any suggestions?

Using actionscript 2 or 3, you should not be attaching any code to an
object. You should be writing your actionscript to a frame space or to
an external .as file. Flash CS3 using AS3 will not allow you to attach
actions to objects on the stage.
