Hello, i'd like to build a FLASH DATABASE application to be published over the WEB + offline CD-ROM. To ensure lowest possible interface, development, and maintenance issues, I plan building a single Flash App published online and offline. The problem is that i need a DATABASE integration. On the web, FLASH REMOTING does a good job of it and just works fine. On the CD, I've never done it before. - on the CD, should i consider including my FLASH app in a stub DIRECTOR movie in order to communicate easily with a database ? - is there a way to communicate easily between Flash and an Access type database located on the CD Which (wise) way would you consider ? Thanks for your answer. Marc
I'm looking at a similar problem. Difference is that I need the app to work on both PC and Mac. Seems like Director has a bunch of options like Valentina Xtra, V12-DBE, or Arca Database Xtra. It seems like XML parsing with Regex is the only option. If that's the case. what kind of performance can one expect when dealing with 2000-5000 records?
