flash data integration:
Hi there, hope you guys can help me out. I am trying to develop a RSS Feeder
with flash. The idea is to have a flash text displayer and every time the Text
has been updated on the server to automatically be pulled by the flash text
displayer. This has to be an automatic process without refreshing the whole
page....

Thnkz,

on this theme. I have managed to set the xml feed up in flash and it pulls
through the Rss fine locally, however when i publish the file to the remote web
server it doesn't pull through the RSS, any ideas??

Si Fi, the only thing that may come to my mind in that situation is that
probably you are not writing the complete URL, sometimes i have posted flash
files that pull up external swf, and in my pc it works perfectly but when i
publish it, it doesn't pull the swf's, so what i have to do instead of just
writing the folder name and the file name i have to write down the whole URL,
Ex. http://blablabla.com/blabla/blabla.swf could be the same situation, give
it a shot and let us know if it worked.

Cheers,

Thanks jag, although I'm not sure I'm with you. The flash file (.swf) displays
as it should on the remote page, however it does not pull through the xml (rss)
feed.

Take a look - www.yourbirmingham.co.uk/news.htm

Si Fi, Under the View Source code option in Windows Internet Explorer i saw
that your swf is "bbcnews.swf", that is the SWF that holds and views your
information, the idea i have over this is that you need to type the complete
URL for the xml file. Ex.
http://www.yourbirmingham.co.uk/XMLFILENAME.xml. I think you should try with
the complete URL in the load XML RSS feed.
Just have a question, did you use any component to do this Rss Feeder? Let me
know.

Cheers,

Jag
