macromedia flash flash remoting:

Check my Examples pages for code samples (all from my book). In chapter 5
there is a sample CFC that sends a simple email. Check Email.cfc and
SendEmail.fla:

http://www.flash-remoting.com/examples/master.cfm

On the same page in Chapter 6 is a way to send email using ServerSide
ActionScript. Check sendEmailASR.fla and the SSAS function send() in
Email.asr.

form details send to Email ??? cosmits
10/23/2003 10:08:17 AM
Hi all
I bet this one is realy simple
couldn't find it on the remoting help though.... mabey it's just me...

ok - I created my first form in flash using flash remoting with serverside actionscript
to run on a CF platform

it actually works !!! God shave the Queen !!!
I'm so happy !!!
I can insert data to an Access DB, retrieve data. delete and update
Thats all I need at the moment
Simple

Now all I need is to send those values of the form filled by the user to an Email instead of an Access DB

easy right ?
can you show me how?

thank you
Yariv

Hi jens !!!

first - thank you for replying !!

I'm realy new to CF
in my experiments I'v used serverside actionscript instead of a CFC (I'm more familiar with action script)
can you tell me how to build such a CFC ?
I know it suppose to be realy simple...
is it just a matter of a sertain Tag like <CFMAIL> that I should investigate?
are there few basic rules to considirate?
can you point out an example of such a CFC that sends values loaded from flash
and passed to an Email ?

thank you for your time
this realy means a lot to me
Yariv

You can rewrite a cfc to mail the information to the customer. Just like you
did with all the database information. A cfc can be called from FR. Another
way is to use a .cfm page the normal way you do them you use a form.

It should be in any of your local bookstores where you can pay cash, or you
can probably pay by check on any online book seller who takes checks.
Amazon.com takes checks:
