How-to question on the frconfig.txt file in .NET

How-to question on the frconfig.txt file in .NET seversp
8/26/2004 3:44:28 AM
macromedia flash flash remoting: I'm using Flash Remoting .NET on a production server and need to access the
service from another production server in the same domain. Is the IP address
defined in the frconfig file the address of an additional server that can
access your service, or the address of the server the Remoting service is
running? How do I format the frconfig.txt file to allow multiple ip's access to
my Flash Remoting Service?

Here is the current format:
--
# Flash Remoting MX for .NET - Configuration File
SN=FRD100-*****-*****-*****
IP=209.***.***.**
Log Level=Error
Log File Size=1048576
--

Thanks,
Nick

You must place the TXT file where you have the SPX of remoting and restart
server, this is because if you donx have that TXT file it assumes that your
software is just DEVELOPER EDITION AND WILL ACCEPT ONLY LOCAL REQUESTS.

Hi Adriana,

I have the same problem but I don't manage to solve it.

Adriana, whet do you mean by "where you have the SPX of remoting" ? It doesn't seams to work with me.

Nick, Did you ever figure out how the IP field works in the frconfig.txt file?
I have a similar issue and can't even quite figure out what IP address that
field is supposed to refer to. The IP address of the hosted web site? Or the IP
of an outside server trying to view the site? Or something else? Thanks, Ron Z

Ron, I did not get this to work like I wanted. Maybe I wasn't understanding it
correctly. the way I understood it, you could install Remoting on a web server
and use the service on that web server (obviously), but that you could also put
in the IP address of an additional server that could access the service. I
ended up installing Remoting on 2 different servers (one .NET Web Server and
one .NET/FCS Server). Sorry I can't be more help. Nick
