I'm new to ActionScript 2 and I want to extract data from a query in my
music.cfc and populate the data to a listbox but not sure how to go about it. I
have read the LiveDocs for Flash MX 04 and I'm a bit confused by the
explaination and examples.

Here is what I have so far:

import mx.remoting.*;
import mx.rpc.*;
import mx.controls.ListBox;

var CFC:Service = new Service
("http://localhost:8500/flashservices/gateway",
null,
"cfc.music",
null,
null);

//the name of the function in music.cfc is called playerFiles
var TrackListing:PendingCall = CFC.playerFiles();

I don't know where to go from here.

Hi,

Since you are new to AS2 and I guess to Remoting as well, I would
advise that first you try populating ListBox normaly ( without Remoting
) with Data Provider or adding with addItem method etc. Then you try
Remoting.
Once it is done the return value from there I guess as Recordset or as
XML and then populate your ListBox. Please read few good articles on
the remoting first I guess that will help you.

I can give you the complete code but that will not help you learning.
