macromedia flash flash remoting : how to connect to a webservice?

How do I connect to a webservice using FlashRemoting, or openAMF?

warning; all my experience is with Flash MX 2004 Pro.

I just drag a WebServiceConnector component on the stage and give it the URL
for my ws ending in ?wsdl. It conveniently looks up the WS the presents me the
list of available functions to choose for operation.
