macromedia flash flash remoting: hey everybody

amfphp: i've been struggling with it for five hours now. i've had enough and
i'm going to stop.

what's the deal? i've got this hunch that this problem is about versioning.
which versions of:

flash
remoting components
amfphp
php itself

should i be running to get this to work?

can anyone point me to a decent, up to date tutorial? they all seem to be
about 2 years old and contradict each other as to which versions they are and
aren't using.

anyone? please?

if i could just get a hello world app going i would be in rapture!

yours.

me.

thanks. :)

Don't quit man... It works awesome. It is a bit vague to get started, but once
you do, it totally rocks!

My versions:
flash - MX 2004
remoting components - Newest
amfphp - .9
php itself - . 5.x

Unfortunately I haven't seen any great tutorials, perhaps I can help you get
started. Send me a message:

You can find an installation guide and several examples
http://www.sephiroth.it/tutorials/flashPHP/amfphp_installation/
Beware: install the remoting components for ActionScript 1.0 to be able to
start quickly with the above mentioned installation guide. The examples
included in the amfphp-distribution are also ActionScript 1.0 based.
When you are on your way, you can install the ActionScript 2.0 version of the
remoting components.
Important: make sure the path information in the gateway.php is correct for
your server settings.
Don't give up on it. Once you have it working.... shear power at your
fingertips.
