macromedia flash flashcom : FCS 2.0 uses new video codec, but what does that really mean...

I have read on macromedia's site
(http://www.macromedia.com/macromedia/proom/pr/2005/announcing_flashmediaserver2.html)
that the new FlashCom server will use the new video codec.

But from what I hear the new flash 8 player does not come with the
compressing part of the codec (meaning that the flash player can't
compress real time - which is what would be needed for FCS to stream it
in vp6).

Is this true.

I believe you are correct.

Bullshit.

Also the fpc 1.5 supports the vp6 playback

ALL LIES.

The truth is that the on2 retains the rights for the live encoding.

A real time communicator with vp6 encoding.

Nor the flash player 8.5 will support the vp6 live encoding.

Maybe next two or three years...
