yeah, its looking super good indeed! But i still have problem with the audio codec! Not a single settings seems to be working right.
i am converting litterally "everything" to "everything" and last night i found something call SUPER (simplified universal player encoder renderer.... only the french can come up with such a name!!!!) ...it is built on top of ffmpeg ..... http://fever.link.free.fr/SUPER.html
kol_korivo...can you refresh me on the specifics of the problem(s) you have with audio? don't forget that 3gpp and 3gpp2 are fairly new and present different sets of problems for different sets of handsets....in the meantime what I did is that I converted with SUPER to a quicktime format using the aac codec and then used the flash 8 video exporter to convert to flv (which is what I needed...)...i have a nokia development platform here along with flash 8 pro so if you tell me more I'll run some tests....
Ok, heres what im trying to do. On our web site, we have the flash communication server steup. From the flash server, were are creating .flv file. I need to make these .flv file available from a portable handset. So my thinking is, "i need to convert the .flv file to a 3gp file!" I was able to convert the video but not the audio. I was not able to find the right "setup" to convert the audio and video from the .flv to a 3gp. So, is this possible at all ? Any other solution that i overlooked? Thanx a lot for the follow-up
kol ok now i got your info. I recently converted a bunch of our video to 3gp and had sound problems. There is several elements that need to be considered. 1) What codec do you use? mpeg-4 or h.264 or both? 2) what handsets you want to target? you cannot expect to target all handsets as they all use different players (for example I had to use the nokia multimedia converter available from the nokia developer site to retain the audio when i converted from quicktime to 3gp to test on my nokia 6600. 3) one of the newest feature in flash 8 pro is instrinsic support for handsets so what could be done would be to embed your video directly in the ..swf file and put into the communication server but again that would be for specific handsets supported in flash 8 (at least you would know which one will be working as flash 8 provide you, depending on the features you are using in the swf file, with a list of compatible handsets). 4) How come somone from Macromedia does not help provide an answer to this thread? Again my view is that you will not be able to just throw one 3gp file and expect it to be streamed down to the handset and work....the problem again is not the protocol but the video player on the handset itself...which depend on the OS being used and the player compatibility with the 3gp file being downloaded. Finally there are opensource applications that allow you convert for several different handsets directly from your flv....I am currently looking for them and will come back to you as soon as I find them!!!! to be continued.... sylviod
