macromedia flash flashcom : Large hit live streaming web video site

I have multiple large hit live streaming video sites. I use Axis cameras
servers and they can only handle 20 users per server. I need to be able to
handle more then 20 users on each server. Axis recommended that I ftp the video
to my hosting server and then have the end users pick the video up from there.
It's way to choppy doing it that way. the FTP keeps wrapping the frames and
then send a burst with the code they gave me. Can I use flash software to
stream the video from my axis servers to my host and basically stream it from
my host server so I can get more then 20 users on at one time. What can anyone
recomend?

hey, yes you can move your site over to flashcom, and even stream realtime, no
ftp's or 3rd party software required.

you will find your axis cameras obsolete though, if they cant work as a
standard webcam. flashcom just requires an input, no server, etc required for
the camera.

with the new fms update you can have 100 connections unlimited bandwidth(now)
and there is an alternate 25 mbps 5000(? if i recall correctly) connections
coming soon, so you can pick the one that suits you best.

if you require development or a further in depth discussion my email is down
below ( erm, where it says dont )

The axis cameras are their own webservers. I need to be able to have flash pull a mjpg stream from a camera and broadcast to multiple users. Is it possible to have that mjpg stream as the input?

short answer: if it can be used as a webcam, yes you can use them. else they
need to be swapped for others. alternatives are available.

cant tell for sure untiil i take a look at the full specs. my guess is if its
a base model you cant.

it is contains a web server and it is an axis 210. here is the link to the axis
210 on the website. I have too many in the field to abandon them right now, as
well as on-site video backup that we use with the axis. I would really like to
find a way to use the Axis 210's if at all possible.

unfortunately theres no way you can use those cameras directly, them being
designed as standalone products.

theres nothing you can do unless you change the cameras..

video back up and all can be done in fms as well, bu there's no way your
cameras can talk with it.

Can you recomend a product that you know works well where I can run multiple
cameras from a site using Flash, and then of course still be able to run
multiple sites using multiple cameras.

How does that even come together? there is a lot to this. I have to have a
product that uses POE, because there is no way for me to get power to each
camera location without running POE. Do I run all of the web cams to a local
Flash server at the location?
