macromedia flash flashcom : Installation Problem - CentOS

CentOS 4 is an increasingly popular distribution of Linux based exactly on RHE
in all but name - they legally can do this because, of course, Linux is Open
Source. CentOS is free, with Red Hat you're essentially paying for support,
many Webhosts with hundreds of boxes don't need the support and, therefore,
save money by using CentOS.

I've never had any Linux application designed for RHE fail to install on
CentOS ... until now.

Following the Linux install instructions in flashmediaserver_install.pdf, I
got as far as issuing the actuall install command, "./installFMS" only to
receive the 2 following errors:

./fmsini: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory

ERROR: Your are running the Macromedia Flash Media Server installer on the
wrong platform.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

This relates to FCS but there should be an alternate install for FMS as well.

I used the alternate FCSinstall that I believe does not check for version. I
did verify that the correct rpm was installed in my version of CentOS before
doing the install. I have a dedicated server so I perfomed the installation as
root. Don't know what happens if you don't have access to the root dir on your
server. It appears to be running except that my video chats don't work. I
suspect that is an issue with the user and groups I entered at the installation
process. I am still working out what the folders and files permisions and
users and groups should be. Other than that the server is definitely running.
The server app inspector and server admin are working and can see my apps.
Also it was suggested to use ./installFCS -platformWarnOnly . If the install
code for FMS is essentially the same then that might work for FMS as well.

Brian

UPDATE:

I trying download a compatible libstd c++ on www.rpmfind.net and install this:
compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-47.fc4.i386.rpm for fedora C4.
Just run rpm -ivh compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-47.fc4.i386.rpm and then run
../installFMS, it's so fast...

But I have delete the check version area on script "installFMS".
It's easy.

Have a lot of good loock (ooops! my english is not good)

Bye
