hi
i was wondering if anyone knows an easy way to use emoticons in the text/html
message window ? or do i need to do some code and make my own component that
facilitates this function,
i have seen a few usages of this with FCS on a few sites but im not sure how
they did it.
if anyone has a clue please let me know , much appreciated. Rob

Hello robfowlr,

there are some scripts, components or fla's out on the net. I did not
investigate in that topic before, but the Emoticon Chat by Roy Willemse
(http://www.dynamind.nl) sounds promising.......
Earlier there where the "funciton components" downloadable in Flash exhange,
but it seems they are availableanymore in the latest version and I am not sure
if the Version 1.0 works.

Hope this helps a bit further.

I stand to be corrected on this but you can load movieclips of your emoticons
in position of a trigger test such as colon, dash, bracket .... you have to
replace that with like 3 spaces and then find _x and _y of that space with
respect to the the Point(0,0) on the corrdinate...

alot of work for just emoticons but i haven't seen any other methods

again, i stand to be corrected and want to know if anyone can think of a
better way (such as loading JPG pictures or using embedded fonts)
