I have FCS installed, and have confirmed that the video is "streaming" in the administrator console. (Using RTMP or RTMPT.) I'm using the MediaPlayback component in Flash MX to point to the FCS and the FLV. It displays the video just fine. The problem is that the scrubber bar cannot be moved through the video. If I try to drag it to the right it moves all the way to the right and starts the video over again. It's either all the way to the left or all the way to the right. I could swear I have seen the ability to skip back and forth through the video using the MediaPlayback component on sites before, and really without this capability there's no point in actually streaming the video. I have tried setting the exact length of the video in milliseconds in the MediaPlayback component. After doing so, any attempt to move the scrubber bar moves me 18.58 seconds into the video, and sticks there. I'm not familiar with actionscript, but I didn't realize I might need to be in order to simply stream a video. I've looked in vain for tutorials that describe what I need to do, but I don't know if a) those were written before the MediaPlayback component and are no longer necessary and b) they all assume familiarity with actionscript and where to put it in the player or on the server, which is well beyond me. Am I just out of luck trying to do this? We're fully ready to purchase the professional version of this for our serving needs, but we thought FCS would be akin to streaming Real Video or Windows Media, where the ability to scrub back and forth seems automatic. Any help is greatly appreciated.
You probably haven't got the duration metadata in your flvs.
