Hi everyone,

Need some assistence,

I have a file called main.asc on my windows 2003 server with flash
communication server 1.5 pro version of course ;-))

I cant figure out how i alter this line so it should work ....

*******************************************************************

room_nc.connect("rtmp:/domain:port/iv_roomlist/main","just a name");

*******************************************************************

This line occurs twice and i think it should work allready ....

But i have an error :

Cannot connect to license server

Is that a flash error ?? if not ... i dont know what it is then ....

I have original software on that server with all the proper license keys.

Pleasse advice

Kind regards Patrick
Holland

Hi Patrick

Not sure I'm understanding you fully here, have you put that line in the
main.asc file on your Flash Comm Server? Or is it in a Flash movie that is
trying to connect to your application on Flash Comm Server.

It needs to be the latter. The best practice is to use an absolute URL which
starts with rtmp:// [at present you are using a relative URL rtmp:/, one slash
as opposed to two in the absolute]. The format for an absolute URL is
rtmp[t]://host[:port]/applicationName[/instanceName] where host is usually
yourdomain.com and the applicationName is the application you wish to connect
to. Anything that is in square brackets is not essential [t] can be added if
you wish to use tunneling and you may wish to use[:port] to explicitly tell the
client which port the FlashCommServer is.

This is all explained in much more detail and much more eloquently in the
O'reilly book 'Programming Flash Communicatiuon Server' by Brian Lesser et al.

Thanks Matt,

I will try and let you know,

Its a website for a client and its getting a real pain int the *** to fix it.

its called www.hetgaycamcafe.nl

The link to the chatbox is :

www.hetgaycamcafe.nl/chat.html

I have some problems and i thought the settings might be the problem ...

But after logging in it freezes so maybe i did something else wrong. FCS tells
me i do have some customers in the box but it doesnt stream a cam .. only the
text ..

Well i will try your settings and hope for the best ;-)

Kind regards Patrick
