macromedia flash flashcom : Video Capture application using Flash Communication Server

Hi,

I am new to Flash and have been provided this requirement from my client. The
client wants to create an application that will capture video using WebCam.
This Video then needs to be uploaded on the web server (IIS 6.0, Windows 2003
server) where Flash Communication Server will be installed and configured.

Once the Video is uploaded, the admin will login and view all the video files
and approve or disapprove certain files. The admin section needs to have Flash
Viewer that will connect and stream video files for display and approval. All
of this needs to be completed using ASP.NET.

Is there any sample source code, example or article that will point me in this
direction??? I really need help and any help in the right direction would be
highly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,
-Ravidhu

Flashcom has the ability to record the video on the fly. It would be easier to
simply allow flashcom to capture the video and store it on the server when a
user publishes the feed from their web cam. I recommend looking in
http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/mx/flashcom/. There you will find many
articles and resources on how to best deploy and display video using Flashcom.
The video is automatically converted into an .flv (Flash Video File) by
Flashcom.

It is actually Flash Player that record the video from the webcam onto the
server on the fly. Basically there is no upload when you use a webcam, since
Flash Player or plugin will record your video in Flash format directly from the
source (webcam) on to the ComServer. Upload will only be needed with other
sources such as DV video which are captured first, encoded second and then
uploaded on the ComServer.

If I understand what you are saying, it's Flash PLayer (the animation)
which encode to FLV before uploading the file to the Flash Comm Server. Is
it right ?

Then, my question is, is it possible to encode a video file in an animation
for example ?
