macromedia flash flashcom : does fcs cache files?

hey everybody! :)

it's my first time inside of fcs and i'm running the helloVideo example from
the oreilly book. only i can't change the main.asc file. if i make a change to
it and recompile the swf, the change isn't recognised. i can do this another
hundred times with the same frustrating result.

if i change it once though and restart my machine it will pick the change up.

wtf? is there some default cache setting i have to disable or something?

Hi

Your problem is with Application instance. Go to Flash communication server
admin panel and select "Communication App Inspector". Login with you
username/password. You will see a list of applications you are running on
FlashCom server now select the application you want to refresh and click
unload. Make changes in .asc file and run swf.

You will get changes reflected there.

Cheers!

hey wintechmedia

thanks for this, very helpful.

i have a knock-on problem now though. when i fire up the admin page, log in
and click "Communication App Inspector" in the left menu all i get in return is
a pop up alert that reads "c is not a registered protocol". in fact, this
happens with all the left menu links.

erm..... what's that all about?!

May we know what OS and browser you are using? What are the security settings for your browser?
