macromedia flash flashcom:
We are exploring the possibility of a flash flie running from within a
PowerPoint file being controlled by another external flash file. The trick is
that it needs to be distributed on CD so we need to be able to write to memory
locations for variable passing. Does anyone know if this is possible and how it
might be achieved?

Wow, that's something I haven't heard of someone doing. As to flash talking to
flash with PPT as a middle man--no, there will be no variable passing. In this
case, you may have to ditch PPT in favor of a Flash slide show (template in
MXPro).

But, depending on your experience with writing XML files (to a local drive and
therefore writing something similar to a cookie), you can have your internal
swf write XML locally and have your external swf read it in, or vice versa.
This will not be an easy process. Refer to your XML class (sendAndLoad, load,
send) for more information.
