Hello,

I am a new person for Flash Communication Server. I m working on Flash Mx 2004
professional.

I had downloaded some communication components from macromedia's website. But
after downloading those components, i came to know that those components are
intended for Flash Mx. Now i m not able to install those components.

I had placed the component fla in the Component & Component FLA directory as
specified by the intallation readme.

I had also tried by exporting the .swc(component defination file) but that
also is giving the faulty results.

I m very eager to work on Macromedia's so powerful tool.

This seems to be a big problem for a lot of people.

This is for Windows XP, For linux the folder config will be different.

Download the new components.
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flashcom/downloads_updaters.html

go to your flash mx 2004 folder:
C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Flash MX 2004\en\First Run\Components.
and delete your old communicationcomponents.fla ,
Then copy the new CommunicationComponents.fla there.

Then go to your Flash Communication Server mx 2004 folder:
C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Flash Communication Server
MX\flashcom\scriptlib\components
and replace the old asc files with the new ones.

Let us know if you get it working..
