Hi, i just installed the server and am trying to use it now, i use the standard
settings for media server, my router is configured
to let traffic through port 1935 pass to my local port 1935 , port 80 to local
80. But im confused now how do i put up a simple site on the media server, or
eg use one of the sample applications i fdound on this site. I tried to just
adress
http:\\192.168.1.4:1935 (my lan adress) and tried the same with the external
ip, also tried both variations with passing the exact filename with it, and i
putted an index.html page in my applications folder . i know i am making some
stupid mistake but no clue wich one. please gimme a clue thx

It looks to me like you're trying to connect to the server directly from a
browser. That won't do anything, as FMS is not a webserver and does not use the
http protocol.

You can connect to FMS in two ways; with your flash application (.swf) or with
the admin console (also an swf... read the docs about using the admin console)

When connecting to FMS from your flash app, you will use a url string like
this:

rtmp://mydomainorip/application/applicationInstance

Read the docs to understand applications and instances.
