macromedia flash flashcom : Linking straight to a flash video and scaling according to the user's screen.

I am testing flash video server and I have few questions concerning it:

1) Can I make links straight to a video file located on the server without
first including the video file to a html page or a
flaxh application? This way publishing videos would be as simple as possible.

2) What would be the best way to make a flash video that users could, if
wanted, to scale according to the size of their
screens?

Thanks!

1. You could use a variable in the url string of the .swf (or in the flashvars
embed parameter) to identify the name of a stream. That way, you could reuse
your player.swf for as many videos as you like without having to hardcode the
stream name into your .swf

2. There are lots of ways to do this, and there is no "best" for all
situations. It would depend on how you have your application set up.
