macromedia flash flashcom : Flash Media Server Stopping

We are running Flash Media Server that is currently getting about 10-20
concurrent hits on a 24hr / 7 day basis.

Every 2-3 weeks the Flash Media Server stops responding. Not even the Admin
app works. There is NOTHING in the Server logs apart from in the access logs
showing "Session Connect-Pending" and "Session disconnect" (showing how many
users had a substandard experience).

Flash Media Server is version 2.0 r1145 with 100 User Lience on a WIN2000
server with 2gb ram.

Questions:

- Is anyone else having or had this issue and is there a workaround /
solution.

- Is there a way to automate a monitoring service for Flash Media server
exterally (like a ping type app) so the we can restart when it fails before our
clients ring us! Even a port that we monitor would be helpful.

Take a look at the following link. Some crash capable bugs have been stomped out.

Thanks for that Jay. We will install the latest version.

We have also implemented a very simple webpage for monitoring our flashcom
server.

1 page hosts a simple Flash SWF file that makes a connection to the server. If
it fails to connect it redirects the browser to a results page that calls our
suport pager. We have a scheduled job that calls the monitor web page every 2
minutes using the iexplorer command. This also kills the process after 1
minutes to close the open webpages. Simple, crude but works very well.
