macromedia flash flashcom: I'm a total newbie here so I appreciate any help. We just installed FMS and
would like to use it for streaming videos. I've researched and found nothing in
layman's terms on what to do next so we can start uploading videos and mp3 for
streaming. Any links regarding this matter is very much appreciated. Thank you
in advance.

i've found nothing that contradicts my finding that flash media server cannot
stream flash video files without writing your own actionscript code or hiring a
third party to do it for you.

robert sandie has published an article and corresponding application sample
file that, among many things, allows you to stream flv files. you can find his
article at

you really have to dig through it to find what you want, but i have made a
successful demonstration of it work.

good luck,
-r.

thank you very much for the input. all i want to do is be able to stream videos
without having to eat up too much of the corporate bandwidth. i guess FMS 2 is
not really a good choice for me at this point. take care.
