macromedia flash flashcom : Problems testing Flash Media Server Examples

I've set-up the Flash Media Server and downloaded the Macromedia examples to
test it. However they never seem to connect. I presume they are already set to
connect to my localhost. I made sure I started an instance of each app for
testing and tried both the default instance name and 'FlashCom'. I'v also
tried programming my own test from scratch which doesn't connect either. I did
sometimes get a shared object appear however.

I've looked through the help and can't see anything i'm doing wrong. I'm
really stuck and don't understand why it doesn't connect.

Have you solved this yet?
I just installed this FMS, but cant get the sample apps to connect.
The apps are in the "applications" folder under their own names (fcsBroadcast)
Im such a novise here, and would appreciate some help please.

Hi Everybody,

For all those who were not able to connct the "rtmp://myapp"....

Follow these Steps: (which we have followed and successfully connected after a
long blast for 3 days)

1. Install Flash Media Server in localhost folder.....i.e. either .... htdoc
(for Apache) or wwwroot (for IIS) ....

2. We have ....path....Flash Media Server
2/applications/tutorial_textchat/main.asc ..... right!!!

3. And further .... For the html and swf files that have come along the
Samples of Macromedia ..... follow this path.....

Flash Media Server 2/applications/tutorial_textchat.html

and

Flash Media Server 2/applications/tutorial_textchat.swf

4. Start FMS2 and Web Server.....and access it from other machine....

5. Hey guys ..... this works .... now u can chat with a network connected
machine....or play games ....create one.....for sure....

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I have done this ..... !!! and it Works....

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

UPDATES on 14th Feb 2006:

Might as well u dont do the above step No. 3, but do the following....even
though u are not under any Firewall etc....do this....

1 more thing to do :

Go to Control Settings.....Windows Firewall.....Exceptions tab....Add port
button.....

Name : rtmp

Port Number : 1935

......This 100% works.....Tell me when this works......

Hi all i've try every thing ,step by step but I still have the massage

Asynchronous I/O operation failed (Failed to attach to completion port: The
parameter is incorrect. 87).
I've read every thing from other post but nothing.

What kind of proces you have started ? .........I.e. antyviruse.......e.c
I think all troubles come from trying to connect to the server port
