TurboLinux
Posted by Masamune at 2/28/2006 11:22:37 PM
Our school's server uses TurboLinux Server 10. Although this is not a supported
OS for FMS, has anyone been able to run FMS 2 on TurboLinux or any other Linux
distros? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

I've set-up the Flash Media Server and downloaded the Macromedia examples to
test it. However they never seem to connect. I presume they are already set to
connect to my localhost. I made sure I started an instance of each app for
testing and tried both the default instance name and 'FlashCom... more >>

I've read that in order to use FLV Playback and FMS2 you need to have an
smil.xml file. I have the sample main.asc from Flash 8 directory, and smil.xml
in my_app/script directory. And I'm calling the smil.xml in the contentPath of
FLV Playback. Nothing happens. Do I have make net connection, ... more >>

FLV File Size
Posted by lmgcousins at 2/27/2006 8:55:18 PM
Using Flash 8 I imported a video clip and compilied it as a FLV file and it's
twice the size of the original WMV file. Any thoughts as to why? I know there
must be some overhead for the "skin" but I need to keep my FLV file close to
the original file size of the WMV .. if not smaller.

network? I have a developer edition set up on a public IP address while we wait
to obtain a full license. It is up there purely for a client review. Anyway,
nobody can seem to get the videos to stream. What gives?
