I am trying to load a new application instance with no luck. Using Linux, where
is the default applications directory supposed to be? I have one in
/etc/macromedia/fms/applications as well as where FMS was originally untarred.
Which one is correct?

And when I am using the fms2_console through the browser, when I click on New
Instance in the application section it doesn't do anything. What is supposed to
happen?

Thanks.

The applications directory does not do anything by itself. You need to create a
directory within the applications directory.

For eample, let's say you want to have an application named "myChat". The
directory path for the application would be:

/etc/macromedia/fms/applications/myChat

Thanks JayCharles for trying, I obviously knew that it works this way.

But as we stated in this post, instances simply wont get created.

On my side, I found out why. Only the admin portion of the FMS server was
working.

I tried to run manually the commands ..

# ./fmsmaster
./fmsmaster: error while loading shared libraries: libnspr4.so: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory

Here is how I fixed it.

# yum install libnspr4.so

After that, I restarted the service.

# service fms restart

Hope this help you too Mudcrab !!
