The documentation states that the Flash Media Server Authoring extension is
need and is on the CD.
I've downloaded the trial version so have no cd and no Flash Media Server
Authoring extension.
Which means I can't try the product because I have no NetStream.publish()
I'm using Flash 8 pro

Where can I download the Flash Media Server Authoring extension from?

It appears these extensions are part of Flash 8 pro. Just missing documentaion
on some of the functions.
I got it to work with the server on localhost.
The trouble I have is setting up the server on the RedhAt box...

I got them and the docs from

They look like AS 1 components and seem to work.

ie NetStream.publish()
But they are in Flash 8 Pro so I already have them.
The components you point to are something else.

I use the live docs. However I noticed that no one is updating changes and
corrections. I posted a few, but noticed that you get two emails, one
thanking you for the submission and the other a rejection from the Adobe
email service. Since I have posted corrections to the Flash documentation
without a hitch I suspect someone is not overseeing this one. But here it
