macromedia flash flashcom : Master process not found, or multiple masters

I'm running FMS on Fedora Core 4 and it's been fine for a while but for some
reason, every few weeks, it just crashes and the only evidence I find is in
/var/log/messages.

This is the error I see...

# grep "Master process not found, or multiple masters" messages*
messages:Apr 26 15:49:04 server-x Server: Master process not found, or
multiple masters
messages.2:Apr 15 16:43:29 server-x Server: Master process not found, or
multiple masters
messages.3:Apr 4 21:10:01 server-x Server: Master process not found, or
multiple masters
messages.3:Apr 4 21:15:22 server-x Server: Master process not found, or
multiple masters

Any hints?

Thanks,
Michael

I'm also new, stupid, and having the same problem on RHE 4. I'll be looking for
an answer and will share if I find something. My system uses AFS filesystem and
sometimes produces a slab error related to AFS caching on shutdown, but I don't
think that's related. Still: You're not noticing anything like that, are you?

I'm pretty sure...

If you are refering to the "server-x" in the output, that is just my hostname.
I'm also experiancing my FMS server randomly not working even with no strange
messages in /var/log/messages. It will work fine for about a week and then it
just seems to stop working and I need to reboot or possibly just restart FMS.
I see the normal messages that it's switching to the developer license and all
the correct processes are running, but my apps just don't seem to connect to
it. I reboot and everything is fine. This is a very stripped down system that
is only runnning a barebones Fedora Core 4 and FMS. I sure wish some of the
usual "Experts" around here would chime in on this. I amazed that no one
bothers to even look at this post.

Yeah, I thought this topic would generate some replies too. On one occassion I
saw a different error in /var/log/messages:

May 8 10:51:13 flashserver Server: Unknown exception caught in
__TCThreadEntry.

So far, no hangs without some kind of log entry. Like your server, mine chugs
along just fine for a week or two then stops streaming video without warning (I
don't have other applications other than FLV files to stream). Processes and
server monitor appear fine during this time. I ended up writing a cron job to
grep /var/log/messages and send me mail if it matches certain patterns, so at
least it won't be down for long.
