macromedia flash flashcom: So we've got like 15 Edge servers setup wtih 5 Origin servers. Things seem to
generally work for streaming live video. There are problems though where some
boxed won't always come up as if FMS has hung.

Currently I'm checking the number of fmscore processes with a script since I
can't seem to get the HTTP admin interface to return anything other than
NetConnection.Connect.Rejected: Admin user requires valid username and
password. Which is odd since it has the correct username and password and the
config files say it should work.

But sometimes the servers won't even start correctly. We have all of the
logging turned on. But it starts up, says it loads the applications, no second
fmscore process starts, and the remaining processes disappear after 5 to 10
minutes. No errors anywhere on the system.

This is CentOS 4 with FMS 2.0.4 and FMS 2.0.3.

Anyone else having similar problems or have suggestions to things that we
could trouble shoot? I'm going to resort to straces soon.

It's normal behaviour that the applications disappear after a while when
there's nothing happening.

Regarding the HTTP Admin interface, what syntax are you using? Have you
enabled the commands you're executing?
Have you tried the PING (which is enabled by default). Are you sure your
fms.ini and users.xml is fine?

The edge server isn't running the application though. Only the Origin servers
are.

But yes, I've allowed only access from localhost or backnet ip range and
allowed all commands and verified the username and password against the config
file. But no luck, always get the error. I was going to try pinging the adobe
support to see if they have any ideas since we have a support contract. Since
it was the weekend they weren't responding to anything. :)
