macromedia flash sitedesign:
Hello, I am currently trying to teach myself Flash MX. I am using the book Flash MX Saavy by Ethan Watrall and Norbert Herber. I am on the section where I am learning about movie clips. The instructions say to create the movie (in this book, a fish swimming across the screen) that I go to Insert - New Symbol Then click on movie clip radio button I import the fish from the CD tutorial I enter 470 in the X field and -78.5 into the Y field of the Properties Inspector Window. (I have made sure that I clicked on the fish before I enter in the numbers) Then to click on frame 90, and insert keyframe. I select the fish with the arrow tool. Again, I enter this time -400 into the X field and -78.5 into the Y field. I select the first keyframe, and go Insert - Create Motion Tween Then I go back to Edit-Document or Scene I create a new layer and name it fish. I select the first keyframe of the fish layer. I open Library and drag the movie clip onto the Stage. Then it tells me to simply go to Control - Test Movie or Control - Test Scene. Here is the problem: the movie clip works in the library, but it doesn't work on the main scene document. Please help, I've done this a dozen times, and I still can't get it to work. Any ideas as to why it won't work in the main timeline?? Thanks - rmitch
It must be something simple, but you are on the right lines. If you want to zip and upload the .fla i`ll have a look Certified but not by Macromedia!
I tried attaching the .fla file here and it wouldn't work. This is crazy. - rmitch
click on attach file/browse to the file/upload/then click on the file/attach Certified but not by Macromedia!
