macromedia flash sitedesign: I assumed when I first got into flash that the program automatically chooses the best way to compress and display your movie. I have just founded out that I was wrong with this assumption. I imported many large images into a movie and resized them. I have noticed that the original size of the pictures sits in the library and that is what I see loaded when the movie is presented even though the file need not be so large. This adds a great deal of work as I have to play around in flash first to see what IO want and than start from scratch in photoshop to size the images as I wish and than recreate a new flash movie in order to get the best file size. This kinda sucks.

Is there a way of sizeing images in flash that will allow transformations etc. to remain the same size and not have to start from scratch. Or how about in the export of the movie an optimized file size routine.

It is best to set the image size out of flash and optimise (up to a point) out of it as well.

Flash will compress a jpg on export,m but you can set this level.
