macromedia flash sitedesign : button HELP!!

hey, i have a problem with buttons, when i create a button and want some text or a graphic to show up in another place when u mouse over the button it works but also if you mosue over where the text or graphic is it works too, so i want it so u can only make it work by mousingover the button...

ok, but what are masks and how do u use em? can sumone tel me this or give me a link to a tutorial on how to do it??? thanks!

Or you could have the text located somewhere else on the time line, and when the user clicks the button, it tells to go to another frame label where text is shown. You can do it many ways. Read and learn and choose the most appropriate way to fit your problem.

You probably put the text and button in the same Symbol and when you mouseover anyone of these, they uncover the text. I did something like that before. Check this out.

No you don't do it that way, you have to put an action on the button and
tell it to access another keyframe on the timeline. Anything that is part
of the button state itself will be reactive and act like a button.
