Is there a way to write and read in a text file ? I know how to read from a textfile, but I was wondering is there's any function or action to print information to a textfile.

Thanks ;)

No, there isn't. All you can is to pass the variables to a server side
script and have the script write the file

hi

actualy first i want to know which version of flash are you using....

if it is flash 5 than there is a only 2 line code to write in a text file locally without using any serverside technology.

or if it of MX than you have to work a little hard but i can surely help you in this as this thing i have done earlier....

wait for a day i will post the sample files for u than u can study them and go ahead

if you want to only read-write data from a txt file you did not need to integrate the serverside scripting at all in flash

I'd really like to find out how to do that as well, however I'm using MX. I'll be using it to create a mailing list. They'll type thier emails in then it'll put it in a text file.

Cheers,

George

Well I`m pretty sure Peter Lee is correct, you can find easy to follow PHP tutorials on Flashkit.
